• Find a unique and interesting way to make an entrance. • React to the opening noise, music or sound effects. • Gesture to the environment, location, space, audience, person or object. • Hold up a physical or imaginary object, product, or visual prop. • Point to a real or imagined visual display or screen. • Get the Audience Involved: Raise your hand, pose a question, ask for a show of hands. • Use a strong movement or gesture to get you out of your head and into your body. |

Remember, your audience is in the middle of their day. It’s your job to bring them into your world, share information that compels them to listen, and encourages them to stay actively involved in the message. These attention grabbing techniques can be used in voiceovers, announcements, podcasts, meetings, presentations, and other forms of speech communication. |
